Conditioning is when for example you would punch a makiwara(a piece of wood) this would make your knuckles stronger and after time you would eventually not feel anything, conditioning toughens the parts of your body that need to be able to get punched or kicked.

Karate Kumite
Karate kumite is the fighting part of karate, over your karate career you have learnt a whole lot of different techniques this the fighting is where you show how well you have learnt the techniques.
A common misconception is when people think the fighting in karate is just to try and beat then other guy up but it is not, during the fight you don't want to just beat the guy you want to show all that you have learnt while at the same time everything is done with power and accuracy.

Basic Stances Of Karate
The first thing you are taught in karate are the basic stances. Stance like the stance you use to bow and the stance you go into before you start a kata.
Your stances form the basis of all the things you do in karate if your stances are bad your karate will be bad, your stances also give you balance while doing karate.
The first stance you learn when you start is Musubi dachi (Mus uba dutch) the stance you use when you bow.
The next stance you learn is HeikÅ dachi (ekqua dutch) this is the stance you go into to get ready to start.
After learning your second stance you learn Sanchin dachi (sun shin dutch). The small stance.
The last basic stance you learn is Zenkutsu dachi (Zen guto dutch). The long stance.
